Nano Power Sensors for the Industrial Internet of Things
The adsistor time of wetness & condensation sensor outputs a signal proportional to the extent to which water vapor has adsorbed onto its surface. The sensor is thereby able to discriminated between a few layers of molecular water and full capillary condensation. Increasing surface sorption of condensing water can be detected long before actual droplets become visible. A user-selectable alarm threshold can be set to indicate when a predetermined amount of condensation has been exceeded. The adsistor TOW/condensation sensor also stores the total amount of time that this condensation level has exceeded the user-selectable threshold.
A unique feature of the adsistor wireless TOW & condensation sensor is that it's moisture-sensitive surface can be placed or deposited directly onto the surface to be monitored for wetness regardless of that surface's texture, geometry, electrical conductivity, state of corrosion, and presence or absences of a surface coating. The sensitive material that detects moisture is thereby in direct contact with the surface to be monitored. The sensor element is also rated intrinsically safe for use in hazardous locations.
