The adsistor seal sensor is placed in the immediate vicinity of a rotating shaft seal and is used to indicate the integrity state of the seal for preventative and predictive maintenance purposes. The adsistor seal sensor detects the increase in small quantities of lubricant or process fluids escaping from a rotating shaft seal before the seal experiences catastrophic failure. A user-selectable alarm threshold can be set to indicate when a predetermined amount seal leak has occurred. The adsistor rotating shaft seal sensor also stores the total time that the sensor value has exceeded the user-selectable threshold.
The sensor element is rated intrinsically safe for use in hazardous locations.
The proprietary mirco-power wireless adsistor seal sensor can operate for years on scavenged or battery power.
